Reader's View: No way Trump called veterans 'losers,' 'suckers'

Why is it when President Donald Trump reportedly says something, it is fact without verification? One thing our president honors is our servicemen and servicewomen. Since it is near to the election, the Democrats and Trump haters will pour out anything and everything. The best approach to this is take what you hear with a grain of salt.

The mainstream media has done everything and anything, it seems, to discredit this president. They have done this for years, and it will continue even when Trump is re-elected. They will try and try again to put a wedge between him and his supporters.

One of the first things many of us sailors learned is not to put too much stock in most of the scuttlebutt we heard because sea stories have a way of getting embellished beyond belief.

What the media are saying, that Trump called deceased veterans "losers” and “suckers," I believe is pure hogwash. There also reportedly were 25 people present at the time of the alleged comments, and they said it never happened. Even the ones who dislike Trump.

Yes, President Trump and Sen. John McCain had nasty exchanges, but that was a two-way street.
