43 new COVID-19 cases reported in Northland; 25 in St. Louis County

A total of 29 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in the Northland on Saturday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 25 additional COVID-19 cases in St. Louis County on Saturday, surpassing the daily record set earlier this week. The previous high of 18 daily cases was reported on both Thursday and Friday.

Lake and Koochiching counties each reported two new cases and Itasca reported one new case Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed nine new cases in Douglas County and four new cases in Ashland County.

There were no new deaths caused by COVID-19 reported in the Northland.

Throughout Minnesota, the health department reported 731 new cases and the completion of 15,158 new tests.

The health department also reported six new deaths, but none in the Northland.

The number of patients hospitalized in an intensive care unit in Minnesota was 151, up 10 from Thursday. The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19, but not in an ICU, was 161, up four from Thursday.

In Wisconsin, 14,858 tests were conducted. There were 1,062 confirmed cases and 13 additional deaths reported statewide.
