The Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church will host two consecutive Saturdays serving up Greek favorites as take-out. Guests are invited to stop by the church at 632 E. 2nd St. on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Oct. 3, noon-5 p.m., to purchase and carry off Greek food and pastries. The menu includes gyros, spanakopita, Greek salad, baklava and Greek cookies.
The pandemic forced the cancellation of the Taste of Greece festival this year, said George and Kate Patronas, event co-chairs. Guests may order ahead by calling 218-722-1652 starting at 9 a.m. each Saturday to schedule a pickup time. Or stop by the tent at the back of the church to place an order.
Guests are requested to wear masks and observe social distancing; church volunteers will wear masks and gloves. Money raised will support the church and its charitable outreach.
